Dear UIC Graduates,

The HKBU 62nd Commencement -- UIC Session will be held on-site on 22 November 2021 at the Academic Community Hall, Hong Kong Baptist University. I am pleased to inform you of the following arrangements with regard to the Ceremony:

The Ceremony

1. UIC Session has been scheduled for the 18th Session to be held on 22 November 2021 at 9:00am.

2. The Ceremony will last for about 45 - 60 minutes. Those attending the event will need to participate in a rehearsal which will take place 45 minutes before the Ceremony.

3. You are invited to confirm your attendance by 22 October 2021 (4:00pm) via the MIS-Survey system (https://mis.uic.edu.cn/survey/login.jsp). Kindly be informed that HKBU has a very tight work schedule, any replies submitted after the deadline will NOT be entertained and your absence at the Ceremony will be assumed.

Campus Access Control

4. For health and safety reasons, campus access control has been implemented. Each graduate can only bring TWO guests to the campus for no more than 4 hours on the day of the ceremony. A campus access QR code (with a time limit of 4 hours) will be sent toregistered graduates in due course.Those who fail to register before the deadline of 22 October 2021 will be denied access to the campus and hence will not be able to attend the ceremony.

Collection of Diploma

5. For those students who will attend the ceremony, you could collect your diploma in person on-site.

6. If you will not attend the Ceremony, your diploma will be delivered to you by courier. Arrangement will be made after the official conferment of degree on 22 November 2021. Please login to MIS-Survey system to complete your mailing information before 22 October 2021 (4:00pm) for the first batch of courier.

7. Please take note that for those who fail to input the mailing information via the survey system by the aforesaid deadline, courier of your diploma can only be handled at a later stage.

Ordering of Graduation Gifts

Points to Note for Quarantine and Testing Arrangements

9. In view of the latest development in global and local COVID-19 epidemic situations, various border control measures for inbound travellers has been implemented in order to build an anti-epidemic barrier to prevent the importation of cases.

10. Travellers who entry Hong Kong should undergo compulsory quarantine and testing, details please refer to the official website.

11. For those who return to mainland China/Macao from Hong Kong are also required at least 14-dayscompulsory quarantine and testing. Please take note of the quarantine and testing policy of local government.

Cancellation of Event

12. Same as all graduates and their family members, we wish very much that the Commencement can be held as scheduled. Yet, your health and safety are our top priority. In the event that the pandemic situation does not permit the conduct of the Commencement, HKBU will have no choice but to hold a virtual ceremony or cancel it at all.

13. In case of event cancellation or changing the event to a virtual one, HKBU/UIC will not be liable for any expenses incurred, including, but not limited to, flight tickets, hotel accommodations, and health quarantine arrangements. We plead for your understanding in this regard.
