Course Description
This course introduces the basic matrix theory and its applications in a few areas. After studying this course, students will have a better mastery of techniques in linear algebra, and will be able to use these techniques to explain and solve several practical problems.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to
· Describe the more advanced concepts in linear algebra, such as orthogonality, eigenvalues and eigenvectors;
· Interpret the properties of the above concepts and use the elementary theoretical approaches to do computations and factorisations;
· Apply the theories of matrices to solve practical problems.
