Course Description

This course aims to improve students’ ability to describe the specific features and trends found in infographics in writing, as well as to write summaries about the information presented in various kinds of infographics – including a variety of charts, diagrams, graphs, tables, maps, and floor plans. The course will utilise infographics related to various topic, offline and online. The primary focus will be on written descriptions and summaries, although there will also be opportunities for students to verbally discuss their ideas of how to represent the specific features, data and organization of each individual infographic.


Course Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to

· Identify, categorise, and describe the features, information, and trends presented in various types of infographics;

· Compare the most significant features, information, and trends found in two or more infographics;

· Apply appropriate vocabulary to describe and compare the features, information, and trends presented in various types of infographics;

· Apply appropriate grammar and sentence structures to effectively organise andconvey information;

· Write a summary of the information contained within an infographic following an appropriately structured written format.

Course Fee

  1. RMB5,000 for BNBU, HKBU and HKCHC students;

  2. RMB7,500 for the students from other colleges/ universities.


Accomodation Fee

  1. BNBU students (Non-graduates): RMB10/ Person/ Day

  2. BNBU graduates: RMB60/ Person/ Day

  3. HKBU, HKCHC and other students: RMB60/ Person/ Day


Note: The standard fee for summer accommodation in student hostel for 2026 is subject to final confirmation.
