Course Add/Drop for Semester 2 of AY2024/25
Please observe the timeline and arrangements for the Course Add/Drop as follows:
Course Add/Drop for Semester 2 of AY2024/25
1. The trial run for Course Add/Drop is scheduled from 10 Feb (10:00) to 12 Feb 2025 (10:00).
2. You are strongly encouraged to log into the system (https://mis.uic.edu.cn/mis/) to familiarize yourself with the operation via simulation.
3. The system will be RESET after the trial run (i.e. the data generated during the trial run will be erased and not be counted). Therefore, please do not regard the trial run results as formal and authentic.
4. The schedules for the formal run of Course Add/Drop are as follows:
Stage I: For both ADD and DROP | |
All students | 13 Feb 2025 (10:00 - 20:00) 14 to 18 Feb 2025 (08:00 - 20:00 each day) 19 Feb 2025 (08:00 - 10:00) |
Stage II: For DROP only | |
All students | 20 Feb (10:00) - 21 Feb 2025 (10:00) |
5. The ADD/DROP/Replace function in the Course Add/Drop System is blocked for some courses can be found in https://ecm.uic.edu.hk/#doc/fld/100471. There are some courses with the DROP function disabled, but students can make use of the REPLACE function to swap for another course session of the same course. Instructions on how to use the REPLACE function can be found in https://ecm.uic.edu.hk/#doc/fld/100471.
6. For courses which are not listed in Attachment 1 of the above ECM link, students can make use of all the functions in the Course Add/Drop System (i.e. ADD, DROP, REPLACE) to adjust your course or study schedule.
7. Once you have added or dropped a course successfully through the system, an auto-generated confirmation email will be sent to you immediately. You are obliged to check your UIC e-mail inbox to ensure the accuracy and validity of your course enrolment record. If your mailbox is full, you will not be able to receive the said confirmation email even though the system is set to resend the same email to you within 30 minutes from delivery failure. Thus, it is important for you to clear your mailbox regularly and make sure that it functions well.
8. At the same time, you should also double-check your course timetable in MIS to make sure that it is updated and in line with the changes from Course Add/Drop.
9. Special adjustment to course registration is only applicable to students who were approved for programme transfer, students on academic probation / with graduation problems / in urgent need of fulfilling specific pre-requisite requirements, etc.
