Course Description

This course aims to empower students with the ability to create and edit websites for both computer and mobile device applications. Students will approach design from the perspective of usability to create content in a non-linear format. As the internet has quickly come to dominate the media landscape, the ability to design for it is powerful. Students will learn how to designing mock-ups for websites as they consider its conception from a static image to a live project on the web. Web content will be created using text-editors such as Sublime Text or Atom. This course serves to build the foundation of technical and design methods using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery.


Course Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to

· Write HTML4 and HTML5 code;

· Apply styling to HTML code with CSS (cascading style sheets);

· Design visual and written content in a non-linear format;

· Construct highly functional and useable websites.

  2. RMB7,500 for the students from other colleges/ universities.


Accomodation Fee

  1. UIC students (Non-graduates): RMB10/ Person/ Day

  2. UIC graduates: RMB60/ Person/ Day

  3. HKBU, HKCHC and other students: RMB60/ Person/ Day


Note: The standard fee for summer accommodation in student hostel for 2025 is subject to final confirmation.
