Course Description

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the essential concepts of marketing and their application in contemporary dynamic business environment. This course aims at helping students to develop an awareness of and the sensitivity to the marketing activities on one’s daily life as consumers. This course also helps student to understand the marketing management functions of planning, organisation and control and develop skills to make optional marketing decisions.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to

· Describe marketing concepts and identify marketing opportunities and threats;

· Apply marketing theories and models into practical marketing situations;

· Point out the sensitivity and awareness to the impact of marketing activities on one’s daily life as consumers;

· Formulate a marketing plan and present a recommendation in marketing related issues.

Course Fee

  1. RMB5,000 for UIC, HKBU and HKCHC students;

  2. RMB7,500 for the students from other colleges/ universities.


Accomodation Fee

  1. UIC students (Non-graduates): RMB10/ Person/ Day

  2. UIC graduates: RMB60/ Person/ Day

  3. HKBU, HKCHC and other students: RMB60/ Person/ Day


Note: The standard fee for summer accommodation in student hostel for 2025 is subject to final confirmation.
