Course Description

The aim of the course is to prepare students to report on economic events and provide a global perspective of economics and finance. It aims to prepare them to work on the business desk and understand the main concepts and themes of the news which these desks will cover.


Course Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to

· Apply the journalistic skills learned in the previous courses to write reports on business and financial news;

· Identify the issues in business and financial news in regional and global markets;

· Explain and analyse the performance of different news outlets on business and financial news;

· Execute research and sourcing in the area of business and financial reporting.

Eligibility

A student who is currently studying for a bachelor degree.

Course Fee

  1. RMB5,000 for UIC, HKBU and HKCHC students;

  2. RMB7,500 for the students from other colleges/ universities.


Accomodation Fee

  1. UIC students (Non-graduates): RMB10/ Person/ Day

  2. UIC graduates: RMB60/ Person/ Day

  3. HKBU, HKCHC and other students: RMB60/ Person/ Day


Note: The standard fee for summer accommodation in student hostel for 2025 is subject to final confirmation.
